Welcome to
Doin' it on the Cheap!
Doin' it on the Cheap is going to be a bi-weekly feature about putting outfits together while on a budget.
There are three blogs involved.
1.
corazones rojos - gabby
2.
good stuff only - amelia
3. and myself
We are three girls, in three different cities, in two different countries, with three different views. The one thing that we most definitely share is our love for thrift clothes and the sale rack. We live busy lives, balancing school, work, a marriage, bills, and saving for the future. We are here to show you that you dont need to spend a lot of money on clothes. Whether you follow the current trends or have your own personal style, you can do it on the cheap!
Every two weeks, we will pick a theme and we will each show our take on it, on each of our respective blogs.
So, here is the first installment : the little black dress

This is a dress that I bought on sale at H&M.
It wasn't more than $20, and I've had it for about three years now.
I really like the big silver zipper on it, but the issue is that the zipper does not lie flat.
Well, I should mention that the zipper you see is on the back.
So, every time i wore this dress the right way, it would leave me with this humpback.
When I was looking for a great easy black dress in my closet, I knew I wanted to make this one work. I put it on backwards for the first time in the three years I've had this, added a belt and I love it!
I styled it with three gold necklaces tha I bought for $2 each at value village,
black tights for $6 from joe fresh,
a belt from value village and
tan booties $20 on clearance from $80 from sears.
please check out
gabby and
amelia's blogs for their takes on the little black dress
The three of us will take turns in choosing each theme. For our next installment, I have chosen to do an "Interview" outfit. If any readers have any suggestions or would like to put in a request to any of us, feel free to do so and we can always take that into consideration when choosing the next theme or outfit.
