Outfit + Health

I know I might not look it, but I am really sick.
Ever since I started working, I've been experiencing weird things.
My hands will swell up to the point that my ring would not be able to come off, my knees and hand joints hurt badly and its hard to bend them all the way.
I'm always nauseous, dizzy.
I have a hard time reading at work. I'll look at something and the words just dont make sense.
I get confused easily. I'll put away a woman's sweater and have another one to put away a few minutes later and completely forget where they go and just wander.
I have really shaky hands, I am always dropping things. I cant remember how to do things, even if its something super easy. My right arm is numb a lot, and I have tingling throughout it.

I am really scared about it, and I still get staph infections only on my legs.

I feel like I'm so stupid because my brain is doing weird things.
I went to the doctor and explained my situation, and the second I said I had shaky hands he said I had anxiety and depression.
I said that I breath in a lot of mold daily and I have all the signs of toxic black mold poisoning but he said that if it was mold, I would have breathing issues.
The only remedy he had for me is to see a psychologist.

I know I have something else wrong with me.
I have a bacterial infection that occurs every few weeks that is super painful and is leaving scars.
How is that depression related?
Needless to say, I am changing my doctor.

If anyone in America thinks that Canadians are lucky to have free health care, think again. It may be free, but it sucks.
My mom has cancer and it took forever for it to be diagnosed cause the doctor kept telling her she was fine and just fed her pain killers. If it wasnt for my mom being so persistent, she might not be here today.

Oh, I almost forgot, when I said all my symptoms, he asked for my age, and then said I was fine.
There are young people who have serious health issues!

Now on to less serious stuff.
This is what I wore the other day.
This top was a dress that I posted before but it just was too baggy and long.
I cut it into a top and feel much better about it.

I am so happy about this blog.
When I read that Liz Elton, someone I have been following on livejournal for a long time, also the singer in the amazing band Kitten Forever (check out their myspace), was involved in a fashion blog, I had to check it out immediately.

So, I am now letting you all know about it.

It's been a while.....

june27-04

I have so much stuff to do and no time.
I wanted to work full time, but I didnt expect it to happen until September.
The car is overdue for an oil change but I just cant seem to make the time. I'm going to have to leave work early to do it.

I'm super behind on emails and sewing and just everything. The only thing I'm not letting fall behind is the cleaning. A clean home just makes you feel less stressed.

I havent worked in almost a year and getting used to it again is hard, especially since things have changed since the last time I worked, i.e. I am now married and dont have my parents cooking my meals and doing the cleaning and laundry!

june27-03

This week is all about organization and balance and getting back on track.

I hope everyone is well and thank you for continuing to read even though I have been slacking off.

Day off!

I have the day off today, or I should say the day off of work.
I have to head to the dentist for a cleaning, then head off to my parents' house, then stop at some stores (maybe), then clean the apartment. Hopefully I have time for an outfit post.

Work has been crazy. I worked full time hours last week and it wiped me out, and I have the cuts and scars to prove it.

The pains of working in a thrift store:

Now on to the fun stuff, at least for me!
One of our cherry tomatoes has started to turn red.

After seeing this on other blogs and having a kinda really big thing for polka dots recently, I tried out polka dot nails. I put a bit too much polish on the brush, and you can see where one dot fell off.

And finally, I got my giveaway package from Melina Bee. I love everything.

100th Post!

So, I found out this week (I know it's only wednesday) that my co-workers all thought that i was about 14-19 years old. I love the reaction that people have when I tell them that I am actually 28, turning 29 this year.

I am working full time hours this week cause someone is off sick.
I bought some rockstar energy cola, which is so good, to get me through.

Time for an outfit!

dress - thrift

I really love this dress. I got it at work via Eddie Bauer.
I need to sew the front buttons down cause if I move, they start to pull apart, as seen in the first photo. Its an easy and quick fix.

Doin' it on the Cheap : D.I.Y

polaroidbanner-all-names-02
Welcome to Doin' it on the Cheap!

Doin' it on the Cheap is a bi-weekly feature about putting outfits together while on a budget.
There are three blogs involved.
1. corazones rojos - gabby
2. good stuff only - amelia
3. and myself

We are three girls, in three different cities, in two different countries, with three different views. The one thing that we most definitely share is our love for thrift clothes and the sale rack. We live busy lives, balancing school, work, a marriage, bills, and saving for the future. We are here to show you that you dont need to spend a lot of money on clothes. Whether you follow the current trends or have your own personal style, you can do it on the cheap!

Every two weeks, we will pick a theme and we will each show our take on it, on each of our respective blogs.

So, here is the latest instalment : D.I.Y. Each one of our outfits will show an item that we have made/altered in some way.

Before:

june08-015

After:

june14-01

dress - thrift
shoes - thrift

please check out gabby and amelia's blogs for their takes on D.I.Y.

The three of us will take turns in choosing each theme. If any readers have any suggestions or would like to put in a request to any of us, feel free to do so and we can always take that into consideration when choosing the next theme or outfit.
email any suggestion to nofutvre@gmail.com

TGIF

**********Be sure to enter my giveaway here.************

I totally forgot what it's like to have a job.
I stayed until 4:30 yesterday, so I put in a real 8 hours.
I couldnt even keep my eyes open when I got home, my fingers are all cut up, my back hurts, my arms hurt. The weird thing about that is that I feel good about it.

Here is one of my finds from this week. Its a jumper that is home made out of, quite possibly, the ugliest fabric ever. I love it.

june08-011

I definitely will be wearing a cardigan with it, but I think it's cruise worthy.

Oh yeah, I dont know if I mentioned it, but I am going on a cruise in November because my sister-in-law is getting married. We will leave from Miami and visit a few countries. Mexico, Belize, and I think Honduras. They have saved the whole back ship for family members. They will be getting married on the beach at night. This is going to be my first and probably last cruise. I can't wait.

Have a great weekend, and I'm really going to enjoy mine!

First Day

june08-009

june08-010

I completed my first all work shift.
Its so funny how, as a shopper, I know the store's layout, but as a worker, I found myself getting confused.
I still cant believe how much work goes into running a Savers/Value Village.
I was putting tags on clothes for the first three hours. The clothes just kept coming!
That is a good thing, cause time flies when youre busy.

I was done at 2pm, so I decided to take advantage of my discount.
I got a wallet, eye glass case, two purses, two dresses, a one piece shorts jumper, a Japanese cloth (the kind with a scene on it that they hang up in sushi restaurants), and a t-shirt for just over $20!

The t-shirt pictured above is the second one of its kind that I own. My husband and I call each other 'honey' so I had to get it. The first one I bought is smaller and has two holes in it, and this one is bigger and almost new.

On to the next day!

Tattoos are a big part of my life.
I love them.
I love the classic style, and the new.
The kind I like best on me are kinda weirder ones.
